The Liisi Oterma Medal
Nomination Procedure
Nominations may be submitted by institutions, university departments, research groups, scientific societies, professional associations, or individual members of the planetary science and astronomy community.
Self-nominations are also welcome, in order to ensure an inclusive and accessible nomination process.
Each nomination should include:
- A nomination statement, maximum 2 pages, outlining the nominee’s contributions, impact, and relevance to the aims of the Liisi Oterma Medal.
- A short CV of the nominee, maximum 5 pages.
- One letter of support from a person familiar with the nominee’s work.
- Optional supporting material, such as links to publications, outreach activities, mentoring initiatives, educational resources, public engagement work, or media contributions.
- Contact details of the nominee and, where applicable, the nominator.
For self-nominations, the candidate should submit a self-nomination statement and include one external letter of support.
Submission format: Nomination materials should be submitted in English, assembled as a single combined PDF where possible. The letter of support may be included in the package or sent directly to the address below by the referee, with the same subject line.
