Aim of the Award

The Liisi Oterma Medal will recognise a woman whose work has made a significant contribution to planetary science, astronomy, or closely related fields in the Nordic-Baltic region.

The award may honour contributions in one or more of the following areas:

• outstanding scientific research;
• leadership in planetary science or astronomy; 
• education, outreach, mentoring, or public engagement;
• support for diversity, equity, and inclusion in science;
• activities that inspire the next generation of scientists.
